Tension Headache Cures

Many people who suffer from stress often develop headaches. And it is Tension headaches which usually occur when going through stressful times.

The problem with most headaches, especially Tension Headaches, is that there really isn’t a cure.  There are only ways to ease the pain or to use medications to help lessen or stop the pain signals registering to the brain. 

Because it is not really known why some people get Tension Headaches and others do not, this type of headache can be difficult to treat.

It is known that relaxation can help to alleviate some of the symptoms of Tension Headaches.  Lying down in a dark room, or a massage are ways in which you can relax.  One good relaxation method which is often used is by using aromatherapy oils. Oils such as  Camomile and Ylang-Ylang are particularly good. 

Medications available to help relieve the symptoms of Tension Headaches are available from the pharmacy and you can buy them over the counter.  The most common forms of these medications are Paracetamol and Aspirin.  Although these will indeed help your symptoms and often ease the pain, taking too much of either of these medications can be dangerous.  If you take these medications for a prolonged period of time your body begins to adjust to them and they can become less effective.

If you find that you’re Tension Headaches are occurring more and more frequently, especially if they seem to be more than 15 times in one month, it would be advisable for you to seek advice from your medical practitioner or doctor as you may be suffering from a chronic form of Tension Headaches. 

Chronic Tension Headaches are very severe and you may feel that you have a headache constantly.  They can be devastating for those who are suffering from them and are difficult to cure.  They often go just as suddenly as they arrived and leave patients in the dark as to why they happened at all.
